ISSUE 1 PLAN
CONCEPT:
My ideas around the first issue's photography is for it to be inspired by a popular TikTok trend relating to the TV show, Euphoria. This intertextuality should read well with the Gen-Z demographic in order to convey the themes of the show through an editorial style. This will incorporate the miseducating-en-scene of low-key purple LED lighting accented by multi-coloured fairy lights across the models and in mason jars in order to reflect the makeup, therefore accenting their eyes with glitter - a convention of the trend. The intertextuality of TikTok, though social and slightly juvenile in inspiration, gives way to larger themes of mental health and drug abuse through Euphoria's plot and concept. Furthermore, it represents the power that Gen-Z have through social media and leads into the further meanings of the feature article, including the use of sisal media for political revolutions by social justice warriors - such as the defacing of Trump's rallies - catering the issue in the article even more so towards them, integrally reinforcing the TA in the debut issue of Flare.
