GOOGLE ADVERT

Image
MY ADVERT: INSPIRATION: MY IMAGE: To create this banner advert, I took a photo of my Google Home Mini against a white background and them edited it in Lightroom to improve the lighting. I then composed the advert in Photoshop using the reference picture to get the layout of the text and colours correct.

AUDIO-VISUAL CONTENT

Image
For my Audio-Visual component, we used the intertextuality of Euphoria and TikTok in order to create a video reminiscent of the trend the shoot is based off. On the contents page of my first and second issues, there is a link to the website directing them there for behind the scenes content.  By doing this, it ties into my second behind the scenes page nicely, where this video will be and gives an exclusivity to the website content that makes readers want to go there and interact further with the brand.

THE BIG ISSUE STYLE MODEL (HOME)

Image
I took inspiration from the Big Issue because I wanted to make news a priority on my website but still. maintain the contemporary style of my magazines throughout, which I think they do consistently despite their magazines not having a set house style.  The idea of having a tag for each overall topic creates a grab-and-go feel to the website and makes the articles easily accessible when on the go and in a rush, adhering to the lifestly of my target demographic. Furthermore, the headlines are brief and to the point, I don't want masses of unneeded text cluttering up the home page, because nobody has time to read it. Their photography is the main feature of each article, adhering to my editorial style, and the rule of three is pleasing to the eye without being too repetitive throughout the page, leaving room for other elements of mise-en-scene. Though I do like the bold red, and it is my secondary colour throughout the first issue and overall website, I want to incorporat...

EMPIRE STYLE MODEL (FOOTER)

Image
I took inspiration from EMPIRE magazine for the footer of my website. It's minimalist style and colour scheme went well with the rest of my page. The layout is what i will keep primarily the same, with the larger masthead in red and a menu list of pages not important enough to be in the initial horizontal menu. I will also include a social bar like they do, but will also include YouTube and TikTok links to appeal to a younger demographic and tie-in with the intertextuality behind my first cover. However, as my background is dark throughout my pages, i will have a white background for my footer, and therefore reverse the black and white colour scheme shown here.

WEBSITE - PAGE 2 PLAN

Image
ROUGH SKETCH: For my second page, I wanted to make an article detailing the behind the scenes process of the first issue, linking into the website pull on my contents pages. The article will also serve as an introduction the FLARE's brand identity for the reader and talk about using freelancer artists during the pandemic to create a community of creatives on the `FLARE team, resonating with the young audience coming into the workplace. In theory, this page would be updated monthly to coinside with each new issue as they are released, providing exclusive photos and videos for major followers interested in the making of the cover. All of the text within the page will be with the same base font in white, with red accents throughout the page from separators, arrows and key pieces of text. This goes side-by-side with the initial cover, and so has to batch the house style in order to be successful and represent FLARE as a cohesive brand. Throughout the page, there would be exclusive...
